I had the most wonderful dream last night

I went back to work for my sister and BIL's company, but they sold paper in addition to gardening supplies. I think it was some leftover "The Office" memory.
They had this whizbang kid doing some sales support. I picked up a phone sitting on the middle of the floor in an attempt to offer some help, and then foolishly realized that it wasn't connected at all.
Somehow, I had consumed a beer earlier at some point. I knew I probably had a bad case of beer breath. This other person was trying to tell me something, and was very close to my face. I felt bad for him.
Then, somehow, I got a tablet (Android; small one). It had a cover that folder over the screen. I just remember drawing some kind of picture on it, and it had a waterfall in the upper left corner, which was animated, like a movie. I used the two finger gesture to enlarge it, and zoomed in where the falling water hit the pool below. It was like it was in HD - amazing detail.
So, the last part was in some sort of employee lounge. There was a flat area, and a raised part, like a sloping hill. The entire floor was covered with some sort of carpet or 'astroturf'. The raised part was bouncy. Really bouncy. The farther up the slope I went, the more bouncy it got. The problem was that the ceiling was too close. Safety issue - in a dream, no less. So I went back down to the flat area, and wanted to try out the bouncy part. I took a running start up toward the bouncy area, which now had a 2 foot or so little wall dividing the flat part from the bouncy area. I was going to do a forward flip, but at the last second, realized I didn't have any practice and would probably screw it up, and there were others around. Instead, I jumped and landed on my hands, arms bending to absorb my momentum. Then, still upside down, I pressed into a handstand, which I could not do even if my life depended upon it. I held it perfectly straight up and down for about 15 or 20 seconds. Since there were people watching, and I didn't want to disappoint, I think I did a forward flip.
Then I remember talking with my sister and telling her what a wonderful place this was to work. We both smiled broadly at each other.
Lastly, the tablet came back into the dream. It seemed that you could do anything with it, including change its shape. I made it swell up like a balloon. It would have floated/flown, but it would have been rudderless. A girl came over and showed me how to fix it. She used a swipe motion off the bottom, and drew a shaft that came off the tablet itself. So now, the tablet had a sort of rod sticking out of it. Then she took this small object, sort of shaped like a guitar pick, and stuck it on the end of the rod. Now, it looked somewhat like a propeller off the back of a boat, except the prop was flat, but it would rotate with the rod.
That's when I woke up - right in the middle of the dream.
Most times when I dream late at night, I forget about the content, but this time, it was so recent I remembered every detail.

Very early this past Saturday morning, about 3 or 4:00 AM, I woke up and could not get back to sleep.
I kept wondering how I could help this world. I don't know about the rest of you, but I am tired of the death, destruction and decay I see all around me each day. Sure, it is not all pain, agony and misery, but it seems that we have more than we need. How to get rid of the excess?
JFK said, "Life itself is unfair.", and I accept that. What I don't accept, however, is that we can do nothing about it. I understand that natural disasters like Superstorm Sandy, earthquakes and other weather related phenomenon are going to happen. Isn't that enough without crazies like Lanza, the Swedish idiot that killed 70 something kids, Columbine, and the Boston Marathon bombings? I mean, if you like casualties, you have come to the right planet, and it needs no help. We are all floating on tectonic plates with molten magma underneath. If you want to see people die, there is disease and disaster all around. Can't you wait a week or two?
Ok, enough negativity. I am a firm believer in the positive. It works. So, help me think of ways to convince the *majority* of Homo Sapiens that we should work together to prevent what misery we can, so we can devote our energy to repairing the damage that we cannot prevent when it happens. I know that not everyone will get on board with this. I hope enough will that we can turn it around.
I must have stayed awake for two hours last Saturday thinking how I can make this a better place. I can make a little bit of difference by myself. I can promote education for those willing to accept it. I can lead by example by doing the right thing, even when nobody is looking, and there would be no reward even if it was noticed. Little things together, however, can have gigantic impact.
I remember when the population of the United States was about 200 Million, and my late father remarked that if you could get a penny from every man, woman and child, you would be wealthy. Now that we are pushing twice that number, imagine if every man, woman and child contributed a penny to a cause. They'd be flush with cash. I'm not soliciting money; I'm soliciting effort. Imagine if every citizen made the small effort to pick up one piece of trash, or better yet, decided to make the small effort to put in the right place to begin with? Imagine if everyone decided to open a door for an elderly person, or share a ride, or give some leftover food to a hungry person. What if we decided that we are all empowered to make changes for the common good? I believe that if we could create such a movement, it would grow, and all of us would benefit. I think the effect would be not just noticable, but something nobody could ignore.  I also believe that the effects would snowball, and turn enough minds and lives around that it would be contagious, in a good way.
What do you think? Am I crazy? Or is that a separate issue? :)
I seriously do not have the time to educate you morons. Evidently, all the Queen Sarah/Hair Boy Trump followers have decided that Willard Mitt Romney is you next savior. Good luck with that.
He has had TWO FUCKING jobs in his entire life. He worked for Bain Capital trashing companies, and he fucked up the entire state of Massachussets as Governor. Both FAILURES. Not one job created. Lots of people fired.
Now, he is saying "Talk is cheap." I bet he and all of you are stupid enough to think he invented that.
Well, I have news for y'all. Talk is ALL Romneycare has ever done. If you have evidence to the contrary, POST IT OR SHUT THE FUCK UP.
Thank you.

P.S. - Notch another one for me on the Shotgun of Truth. 53% of us saw through the veil of shit this moron wove.
I told you I have been right all along.

This is my patriotic duty

I am all about freedom and liberty and financial prudence, but you can't fix 50 or 60 years of irresponsibility in 3 or 4 years, especially when it has just come to a head and completely blown up in someone else's face.
That being said, I am for steering this country back to a sustainable, long term period of growth.
The first thing that needs to happen is education. A large portion of Americans have either lost the ability to think critically, or they never had it. This is exactly what it sounds like. When someone makes a statement, you examine it critically. Does it sound true and correct? Does it make assumptions? Is this a hyperbole, or conjecture stated as fact? Is this person engaging in verbal manipulation?
Some issues can be easily verified, such as, "The sky is blue." Others, such as deeming one person the worst President of all time and another as the best, are not so simple, and take a lot of thought. Like others, sometimes, I get lazy and try to skip forward. If you are a good judge of character, trends, and a little probability, you might get away with it, but the best way is to examine theories, postulations and opinions with a critical eye. If it turns out the submitted information holds up, then it is safe to embrace that idea.
Education can happen anytime. People seem to think that can be postponed indefinitely with no consequence, but I have to tell you that it shows. It doesn't have to be formal education, but quit watching dancing with the stars and start exploring on the internet or pick up a book. It is a fascinating, huge world, and then there is the galaxy and universe(s), etc., or as microscopic as you want.
Once people get educated, they learn the value of life, and the insanity that results when people that can barely read are released into the herd.

As time goes by, I still maintain I have been right all along.
I seriously don't care if you disagree with me. If you have compelling information that tells me that I'm wrong, I simply amend my position. This is why it is very difficult to argue with me. I won't adopt or retain an incorrect opinion.
Since my last post, much to my delight, the American public soundly rejected the idiot teabagger, simplistic and unrealistic approach of money is everything; people are nothing.
Romney/Ryan/McCain/Palin (YES, I am aware McCain/Palin were not voted directly upon in this election - email me if you can't put 2+2 together and I will spell it out for you) got sent home again. Americans are good people. Most will help you out for no reason, with no expectation of reciprocity. The overwhelming victory at the polls would have been an absolute landslide if the boob tube was not in control of about half the population (those that actually think Dancing With The Stars is real entertainment, or those that have ever watched 60 minutes of American Idol or Survivor/Big Brother or the other crap that masquerades as creative or interesting).
You see, your television does not need to watch you or speak to you to control you. Many people breathed a sign of relief when 1984 came and went, and the Orwellian world didn't display its face as it did in the novel. In fact, since it is an extremely widely read novel, it would have been foolish and naive for the ruling powers to be so obvious about it. Did you really expect for either Presidential candidate in 2008 or 2012 to come out and say "Ignorance is knowledge"?
Yet, elements of the book, which are present in our modern day society/government have come about, and, for those paying attention, have been here for decades. Do you remember when Iraq was our 'ally'? We furnished Saddam Hussein with weapons (and the teabagger's idol, Ronald Reagan, broke Federal and International law by selling weapons under the table to the other side), and then ten years after (RIP Alvin, I still remember you) they have become our 'enemy'. Finally, when the Evil Bush determined the time was ripe, we drop all pretense and attacked them directly. Of course we had suspicions Iraq possessed WMDs. We shipped tons of them over there. WTF???? How could we become so gullible?
The answer is not very simple, but two things that help the totalitarian aspiring corporations:
  1. Create a dumb population, and
  2. Keep them too busy to effect change.
The first step is relatively easy. Get all the mass media into the hands of a few people that will trade morals for money. They get insanely rich for selling out. Almost all major news organizations parrot the same information. If you look at the sources for the articles across CBSnews.com, NBCnews.com, and the rest, you might notice that they often are simply reprinting the same information over and over. The nightly news is just a rehash. Of course, when some newsworthy event happens, multiple sources are going to report the same thing. An earthquake in Los Angeles, for example, is going to be reported as an earthquake by everyone. This is not really the problem. The problem is partly laziness by the publisher, and partly because the reader doesn't care or notice that each account is a reprint of another. I understand that reporters can't be everywhere at once, nor would it be of any benefit that a single report can't be shared, but when a single viewpoint (READ: interpretation) is copied over and over, you pretty much are going to get one person's story at the expense of more detailed coverage.
Secondly, keep them busy working and multiplying. Spend 8 hours a day, plus an hour for lunch, two hours commuting back and forth, and sandwich in standing in line at the DMV, filling out forms like taxes, voter registration, paying bills, and that pretty much kills the free time for the weekdays. I'm probably not too atypical. I leave for work about 6:00 AM, and get home about 11 hours later, exhausted and thankful I survived the many people learning to drive on our roads, and have about enough time and energy to cook, eat and crash to do it again the next day. That leaves Saturday and Sunday. Get a substantial portion of the population to spend half a day on Sunday worshipping a deity, and now you have maybe 18 hours left for your actual life. Unless you forego any hobbies, recreation or other diversions, that is about how much time you can resist the system.
Ok, so how do we break out of this endless cycle? I'll have more on this later. Thanks.

I seriously don't care if you get it or not. Romneycare somehow has support from all the Right Wing Nut Jobs despite the fact that he destroyed/liquidated at least 25% of the companies unfortunate enough to be taken over in a leveraged buy out by Bain Capital.
His one shot at job creation after getting all that 'business experience'?
Out of 50 states, Willard Mitt Romney's state came in number 47. Could have been worse. If Katrina would haven't hit in that same time frame, it would have been 48th!

I have been right all along.

I have been right all along.
My first vote, at age 18, was against Richard Nixon. He ended up resigning in disgrace. I was right.
Next, I voted Democratic again. Gerald Ford pardoned Nixon in a deal. We all know it. I was right.
I voted for Carter, who was only partially successful undoing the damage from Nixon. I was right.
I voted again for Carter, but Reagan won. Hostages freed within an hour. The start of many, many shady deals, including selling arms to Iran, which was criminal and the ringleader was Reagan. I was right.
Again, voted against Reagan. He was already in early stages of Alzheimer's. I was right.
Voted against Bush Sr. Economy tanked. It's the economy, stupid. I was right.
Voted for Clinton. Economy began one of its biggest growth phases in decades. I was right.
Voted for Clinton again. Economy kept steamrolling. Huge surplus. Debt would have been completely eliminated in 2007 had we stayed on track. I was right.
Voted against Bush. He sat with his thumb up his butt while attackers carried out 9/11. I was right.
Voted against Bush again. It was discovered weeks before the election that he lied about getting busted for drunk driving. He presided over the biggest economic disaster in 80 years. I was right.
Voted for Obama. Somehow, he managed to keep the entire world economy from collapsing. I was right.
I'm voting for Obama again. Nobody fully understood how monumental the task was that he undertook. We have made steady progress. A lot remains to be done, and if Romneycare is elected, you have only yourselves to blame. I am right once again.
You are free to ignore this. Actually, if you are too far gone to understand why I am right, I hope you do. But you have been warned.
